Xanthi Gerasimo

Xanthi (Xane) Gerasimo returned to the Amazons, where she played from 2013-2018, after honing her coaching skills all over the Midwest. Building a diverse skill-set, she has served as a Forwards Coach (WI, Midwest, Amazons), Contact Coach (WI, Great Waters, Midwest U23), Defense Coach (WI, Amazons), Backs Coach (UW-Stout, Amazons), Attack Coach (Wisconsin, UW-Stout), and has a decade of experience as a Head Coach (UW-Stout, Amazons, Wisconsin U23).

She is a World Rugby L2 Coach, C2 Referee, and has been acknowledged as a stand out by the wider rugby community; including being awarded the 15 Under 30 Award - U.S. Women's Rugby Foundation 2020, and being nominated for the Kathy Flores Heart of the WPL Award (2023, 2024).

Xanthi focuses on player development while playing a risk-embracing style of rugby. Never tied to a single style of play, she embraces innovation and change – challenging athletes to increase their rugby knowledge. Xanthi will often give you an answer in the form of a question and looks to involve every athlete in their own development.
